City Man and Woman
ParkJoogyung’s work, <City Men and Women> is a work that expresses the daily lives of modern urbanites about relationships, love, desire, fashion, and shopping through the movement of anonymized crowds. The artist was the second Korean to receive the Taylor Award from the French Taylor Foundation for her urban men and women series. If you look at the anonymized city dwellers as a large group, you can feel the splendid and dynamic energy, but in the individual figures given detailed information, you can feel that the inner wrath of the city, such as anxiety and loneliness, also coexists. The life of modern people is transformed into a desire for fashion, dynamic energy is expressed through power walking, and various psychological and life stories of urban men and women are contained.
